Tea on the Titanic
Primary 7 had a wonderful day aboard RMS Titanic. Everyone was very creative and dressed in the style of the period.
We enjoyed the haunting Titanic Theme Tune played on violin, (Erin McFetridge and Anna Gamble), flute (Eleni McKelvey and Miss Holland) and piano (Mrs Kyle) and the famous ‘Nearer my God to Thee’ hymn accompanied by Bella Graham on guitar.
Naomi Fleck recited a poem she had written for the occasion – ‘Titanic # Me’ and P7B performed a composition named ‘Unsinkable Me’.
Jazmine Jones created an impressive PowerPoint presentation complete with a Chatterpix feature.
We were transported from ‘the old world to the new’ on the ship by the Irish dancers, Maisie Handley and Maisie Gage from Primary 4. It was a wonderful performance from the two girls who joined the party for tea afterwards.
A chorus from ‘The New World Symphony’ rounded off the musical entertainment and we finished the programme with the presentation of awards for the best dressed boy and girl from each class.
Well done to Kara-Linda Connolly, Lucas Rock, Katelyn Speirs and Reece Reid.
Everyone took on a character of their choosing for the Titanic journey, all very entertaining and imaginative! We had all sorts of aristocrats, business people, actresses, servants, villains and stowaways represented!
After Brooklyn gave thanks, all ‘the passengers’ shared a hearty Titanic tea party and then had their photos taken on the legendary staircase of The Titanic.
Thanks to all the children who performed so well and those who helped behind the scenes to make it a day to remember.
