Everybody in P4/3M has made a great start to their learning in Term 1A. Mr McCullough is so proud of all the boys and girls!
In Literacy, we have been focusing on reading and phonics/spelling skills and using lots of practical opportunities to support this.
In Numeracy, P3 have been learning about patterns, shape and number families. P4 have focused on place value, addition, regular and irregular shapes and decomposition in subtraction.
In ICT, we have been using iPads for research and beginning to program using Scratch Junior.
Our World Around Us topic is ‘Down The Town’ and, in the variety of activities in Activity-Based Learning as well, we have been exploring and learning lots about the local Cullybackey area.
With Miss Arbuthnot, we have been learning about Harvest in RE and extending our creativity through some Art and Music activities.
Visitors to the class have also extended our curriculum opportunities, with weekly Coaching for Christ sessions.
P4/3M enjoy celebrating their successes through Class Dojo points and rewards and our Stars of the Week.

We have all had a busy number of weeks in Term 1B, in the run up to Christmas in P4/3M.
In Literacy, we enjoyed reading the book ‘Supertato’, which is set in a large shop. We created our own superhero characters from clay, that could be found in a shop. We also explored the Ulster-Scots words that are used in our local area, to build up our vocabulary.
In Numeracy, P3 have been continuing to explore number families up to 20. P4 have been learning about fractions of numbers and fraction families.
We have been busy practising our Christmas songs for the online Carol Service and we have enjoyed the learning opportunities that our visiting Elf called Ernie has given to us.
