In Term 1 in Primary 7 we study different genres in Literacy. Every year we look forward to writing spy thrillers and making i-Movies to advertise them.

Each year we get inspiration for our poetry compositions from the beauty of the school grounds in Autumn. The colours, sights and sounds of a misty morning walk provide us with lots of ideas for our work. This links with our Fair Trade topic and a study of ‘The Swan’ by Saint-Saens.

November sees the beginning of our debating topic when we break into teams and debate topical issues such as the wearing of school uniform.  This is a lot of fun; we find out how creative and competitive we are!

Before we know it, the Christmas season is upon us and the Primary 7 year group takes the lead in the Carol Service at Cuningham Memorial Church in the village. Everyone has a part to play, reading, announcing, verse speaking, singing, playing instruments in the orchestra and welcoming guests to the service.

Term 2 introduces us to The Suffragettes in History and Literacy coupled with a focus on The Titanic and lots of science related activities with ice balloons and all!

School trips are an added bonus in Terms 2 and 3. The summer term sees an emphasis on outdoor activities and preparations for Sports Day with the highlight of Prize Day and The Prom in June.

This is the P7 Rollercoaster!
