P6QB
Hello! Welcome back to Primary 6QB class page.
Our teachers this year are Mrs McQuiston and Mrs Beattie. We also have Mrs Steele and Mrs Francey as our classroom assistants.
Primary Six continue to work really hard. Every day we work on spellings, tables and mental maths. We are reading Roald Dahl books. We have enjoyed Charlie and the Chocolate Factory and The BFG. As a whole class we are reading Matilda. We are loving the amazing characters, brilliant story lines and fantastic language. We had a dress up day and really enjoyed being characters from Sophie to Mr Twit. We are now writing poems all about a railway journey and learning all about rhythm and rhyme.
There is nothing like Numeracy in P6QB. We in our mental maths we are focusing on using strategies to solve problems. In Number we have been learning all about factors and multiples and then multiplying and dividing. We have been learning all about shapes there are so many different shapes to investigate and learn about.
We have been learning more about Victorians and Miss Orr has been coming into school weekly to help us create Victorian doors from clay. We have painted and varnished them. The next part of our project is to create a 3D house to put our clay doors into. Miss Orr gives great advice and super help. We very much enjoy her visits.
We are really enjoying Music this term. Mr Brown’s weekly music lessons are great fun. We are learning lots of new songs and ways of enjoying Music. We are looking forward to our trip to hear the Ulster Orchestra.
Last week was Kindness Week in school. We had a great week learning lots about each other. We have been thinking about being kind to ourselves and each other. We had a great week celebrating what a special class we are.
