Mission Statement
The aims of the school are encapsulated in the three elements of our mission statement, formulated by the staff.
As a school family, in partnership with parents, we aim to provide:
- a stimulating and caring environment where each child is valued as a unique individual.
- an orderly yet relaxed atmosphere in which all our pupils can reach their full potential.
- nurturing of the personal and social skills, values and attitudes which will enable children to make a valuable contribution to the society in which they live.
Schools are accountable to many groups but it is our view that the first responsibility of a school is to its pupils. With this principle in mind, we aim to create an environment within which pupils, staff and parents can work together for the successful achievement of the aims outlined.
Our strategic development plan builds on many strengths good relationships at all levels the behaviour and responsiveness of the children; the commitment and cohesiveness of the staff the development of the children’s experiences in valuing the needs and traditions of others; the excellent quality of teaching and learning with constructive leadership.
The school implements all areas of the Northern Ireland Curriculum as specified by the latest legislation. We review all we do in school to ensure our teaching, learning and pastoral care are effective and all our pupils have quality experiences throughout the school.
We have an extremely well maintained building utilising excellent facilities and resources. Our P1 and P2 classes have their own play rooms and P1-4 have large communal resource and learning areas.
We have an assembly and P.E. hall, a dining centre, a 28 computer ICT suite, a library, a music room, outside learning areas, climbing frame and playground equipment and a secure pond area.
All these facilities are used to enhance our teaching and learning provision.
